PARADISE BLUE

The band was in its infancy. We were called in, on a moments notice, to fill in on a Tuesday night at a place in the Hard Rock Hotel complex. The name of the establishment was The Paradise Theater. As it turned out, it was a gentlemen's club with very scantily clad women dancers. In between our sets there were about a dozen absolutely gorgeous women that danced in a highly entertaining revue. When it was time for us to go back on for the next set, after the dancers were done, the scent of estrogen permeated the entire room. Ahh... a gig made in Paradise. The owner liked us so much, that evening, that we were hired as the regular Tuesday night act. A short time later the place was closed for supposedly soliciting prostitution. And so, the band was dubbed in honor of its first regular paid gig.

The band is based in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. It's members are some of the most experienced and accomplished musicians in the area. Versed in all genres of music, the members of Paradise Blues always try to put a unique spin on everything the band plays. Each member, having a distinctly different singing style and vocal range, allows for a wider range of material that the band can cover, and some interesting vocal harmonies. Although the Blues is well represented in the band's repertoire and its name, it is just as comfortable with many other musical genres. We have played many different venues. From small jazz & blues clubs to local hard rock bars. From private parties to large outdoor municipal events & concerts. Whether its from today's top 40 Rock, Dance, or Country charts, or music from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, or 90's, we tailor our playlist to whatever the need is. Our goal is to provide quality entertainment with professionalism and originality that exceeds an audience's expectations. When was the last time you came away from a performance feeling that you were captured in an uncontrollable hip undulation? Hmmm...?

Paradise Blues

The Band's standard configuration is five members. For certain situations a 2 or 3 piece horn section can also be added. Our travel range is from Palm Beach to Miami Dade. Instrument amplification is usually combo sized and stage volume is always kept to a minimum. Our state of the art PA system is very versatile and can be set up to accommodate small, large, and even outdoor venues.

Sections of our set list are specifically designed for various situations, such as a dinner set, when low levels and an acoustic format are favored. Even when we are in our power and dance sets the volume levels are never deafening. Club owners and other past employers have really appreciated these aspects and it is completely by design. We fully understand that our goal is to entertain and not to send folks home with blood hemorrhaging from their ears. Most of the electricity in a Paradise Blues performance comes from the energy of its members, not from the voltage required to power the amplifiers past their safe decibel range.
